The Council is informing all property owners in Blantyre City that it intends to seize and sell undeveloped land whose owners have been in default of city rates, the process will begin after fourteen (14) working days from the publication date of this notice.

The following are some of properties in default of payment of city rates and the Council is informing property owners to clear their balances within 14days from the date of this notice.

Position : Revenue Collector
Grade : M11/S6
Reporting To : Commercial Officer
Qualifications : Applicants should possess a full Malawi Schools Certificate of Education with at a least a credit pass in Mathematics plus a Certificate in Financial Accounting or Business Management. Two(2) years’ experience in a similar or related role is a must.
Duties
- Sorts city rates bills in readiness for distribution
- Distributes city rates bills to clients
- Collects cheque payments from the Council’s clients
- Submits daily cheque payments to the Council
- Submits weekly revenue collection reports
