VENDORS SUPPORT MAYOR'S ORDERLY TRADING INITIATIVE AT LIMBE MARKET
Vendors at Limbe Market have pledged their support to His Worship Councillor Jomo Osman, Mayor of Blantyre City, following his engagement with business operators aimed at promoting orderly and regulated trading within the City.
During a media tour of Limbe Market earlier today, vendors expressed their commitment to cooperate with Blantyre City Council in ensuring that trading activities are conducted in designated areas to promote cleanliness, order, and public safety.
Addressing business operators, Mayor Jomo Osman emphasized the Council’s approach of dialogue and engagement in resolving challenges related to informal trading.
“As Blantyre City Council, we have decided to engage business operators so that we agree on how business should be conducted in the City. We have identified proper trading spaces and are relocating vendors to ensure order,” said His Worship Councillor Jomo Osman.
One of the business operators at Limbe Market, Esterly Nasiyaya, welcomed the initiative and praised the Mayor’s engagement style.
“We are happy with the Mayor’s approach. He engaged us well, and we have agreed to relocate to the designated places so that business is done in an orderly manner,” she said.
Blantyre City Council has since commended the vendors for their cooperation and commitment to promoting a clean, organized, and conducive business environment within the City.
