Blantyre City Council Leads Residents in a Clean-up Exercise in Kachere
On 10th September 2021, Blantyre City Council led residents in a clean-up exercise in Kachere Township as part of the monthly National Clean-up Day.
President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera declared the second Friday of every month as National Clean-up Day in Malawi.
This month’s cleaning exercise in Blantyre was conducted in partnership with the Center for Environmental Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) and Concerned Youth Organization (CYO).
Namwalime Ward Councillor, Getrude Chirambo, Chair of the Council’s Health and Environment Committee represented the Mayor of the City of Blantyre.
Councillor Chirambo called upon all residents to be participating in the cleaning of the areas they live, work or do business in to keep the City clean.
