Council has new Director of Administration

Blantyre City Council welcomes Mr Lytton Nkata who has joined as Director of Administrative Services.

Nkata: New bloom in the Council

Nkata is a career civil servant. His first appointment into the civil service was in 2000 as a Protocol Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

In 2004, he joined the Malaŵi-German Programme for Democratic Decentralisation under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, where he worked as Chief Advisor (Decentralisation), supporting local governments in local revenue mobilisation, development planning and institutional capacity development.

Nkata joined Blantyre City Council in January this year replacing Dr Alfred Chanza who successfully ascended to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
