Council launches Mayor’s Trophy 2018

The 2018 edition of the Mayor’s Trophy kicks off this afternoon at Blantyre Youth Centre at a ceremony to mark the launch of the competition.

The Deputy Mayor Cllr Joseph Makwinja will preside over the event which will see Chilomoni LEA Primary School playing Mbayani Primary School in netball while in football Makata Primary School will play Naizi Primary School.

On Thursday, FDH Bank donated K4, 850, 000.00 (Four Million Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Malawi Kwacha) towards the competition.

During the last Mayor’s Trophy, Naizi Primary School from Bangwe and Mbayani Primary School from Ndirande emerged the winners in Football and netball games respectively
