CPL donates protective wear to the Council

On April, 25, 2019 Chibuku Products Limited (CPL) donated protective clothing to Blantyre City Council to be used by sweepers and cleaners.

CPL gesture of 70 white dust coats was a response to the Council’s request to companies to donate towards Health Week Campaign and Clean Premises Competition initiatives as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Making the donation, CPL Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Manager Gloria Zimba said her company believes in operating in a clean environment.

She added that the donation was part of healthy standards compliance which she emphasised was one of the company’s core values.

Zimba pledged the company’s continued partnership and cooperation with the Council in an effort to help improve sanitation in the City.

Blantyre City Council Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Emmanuel Kanjunju expressed gratitude for the kind gesture from CPL.

“As the Council, we are very much happy to receive this donation,” said Kanjunjunju.

“The donation of protective wear will have a big impact especially that it will motivate our workers to do more as they sweep across the City,” he said.

Kanjunjunju, representing the Chief Executive Officer, said the Council cannot manage on its own to dress the workers and relies on the good will of corporate partners like Chibuku Products Limited.

Dr Kanjunju applauded the company for their unwavering support to the Council and appealed to other corporate residents to emulate the good example set by CPL.

Chibuku Products Limited came second in the business operators category in the Clean Premises Competition 2018.
