Blantyre City Council is calling for applications from interested candidates for the position of Senior Legal Officer in its Directorate of Legal Services.

Number of Positions
Two

Qualification
• Degree in Law from a recognized institution
• Admission to the Bar in Malawi

Responsibilities
• Collecting debts on behalf of the Council through courts
• Representing the Council in all matters before courts and any tribunal
• Conducting legal research
• Assisting in providing legal opinions
• Preparing/drafting court documents
• Assisting in drafting contracts and other related legal documents
• Drafting regulatory documents
• Other duties as shall be assigned from time to time

One Year

Blantyre City Council is inviting applications for the following position:

Ref : BCC/VACS/ADC/125/2023/10

Position               :           Revenue Collector

Grade                   :           M11/S6

Reporting To     :           Commercial Officer

Qualifications   : Applicants should possess a full Malawi Schools Certificate of Education with at a least a credit pass in Mathematics plus a Certificate in Financial Accounting or Business Management. Two(2) years’ experience in a similar or related role is a must.

Duties

1. Sorts city rates bills in readiness for distribution
2. Distributes city rates bills to clients
3. Collects cheque payments from the Council’s clients
4. Submits daily cheque payments to the Council
5. Submits weekly revenue collection reports

Qualifications   : Applicants Should Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education with at a least a credit pass in   Mathematics.

Duties

1. Issues market fee tickets to vendors
2. Collects market fees from vendors
3. Balances issued tickets against revenue collected on a daily basis
4. Ensures that all vendors pay market fees on daily basis as required
5. Ensures safe custody of market fees before submitting the fees to the market master
6. Assists the Market Master in compiling cash ready for depositing
